The Church, Triffids and Ed Kuepper
IT will be an Australian music legends extravaganza at the Red Hill Auditorium on December 4.
The Hills venue has announced The Church and The Triffids will perform at the summer concert along with Ed Kuepper and Mark Dawson.
Last year’s ARIA Hall of Fame inductees The Church have been impressing critics and fans alike for the past three decades.
Their back-catalogue includes debut album Of Skins and Heart, which featured the hit The Unguarded Moment, Starfish, and 2009’s Untitled #23.
The Triffids and friends will perform the songs of their late lead singer David McComb. At the Red Hill gig, the remaining Triffids – Rob McComb on guitar/violin, Jill Birt on keyboards/vocals, Alsy Macdonald on drums, bass-player Martyn P Casey and Graham Lee on pedal and lap steel/guitar/vocals – will be joined by special guests Mick Harvey (vibraphone/guitar/vocals), Bruce Haymes (piano), Simon Breed (guitar/vocals) , Rob Snarski (vocals) and Alexander Gow (vocals).
And legendary founder of The Saints and Laughing Clowns Ed Kuepper, who also has several solo albums to his name and is the newest member of Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, will return to Perth for the first time in more than five years.
He has reunited with drummer Mark Dawson and after a series of sold-out shows for the Brisbane and Darwin festivals and the Melbourne Spiegeltent Season of Curiosities, Kuepper will come to Red Hill to present Re-Arranged, a show loosely described as “ambient rockabilly.”
